Get the traditional look from A-Rated windows

image

Our vertical sliding sash windows maintain the elegant proportions of traditional sash windows, whilst incorporating the very best in modern-day technology to deliver the low maintenance and high security of PVC-U without the problems associated with timber sash windows.

Quality assured and with A-Rated energy efficient glazing as standard our windows feature tilting upper and lower sashes for ease of cleaning, low-line beads and glazing gaskets for improved site lines. This enables old style properties to retain their heritage and character. A wide range of styles, colours and hardware options can be specified, whilst providing the benefits of modern-day technology.

Many buildings in the area have been disfigured by inappropriate window replacements that have not maintained the original design aesthetics of the property.
Once installed our vertical sliding windows blend into their surroundings. Sculptured astragal glazing bars and run through decorative sash horns also add to the amazing appearance of the windows once installed in your property.

Fabrication

Our windows are manufactured using the highest quality materials under ISO9001 accredited quality management systems and are fully reinforced with aluminium in the frames and galvanised steel in the sliding sashes to resist deflection under extreme wind-loading conditions and to carry the weight of the double glazed units.
High quality spring balances maintain the equilibrium of the sash window at any point of travel and robust locking devices ensure properties are secure.

The window hardware is designed to give improved levels of strength and durability, safety and comfort to ensure that once installed the windows will look outstanding and will remain that way.

Key Features of our vertical sliders

• Low maintenance PVC-U frames with traditional styling
• A-Rated as standard
• BSI Kite marked
• Fully featured sculptured profiles
• Equal site lines for top and bottom sashes
• Choice of Georgian glazing bar designs
• Easy clean tilt facility, with tilt restrictors for safety
• Double glazed with 24mm glass

Energy Efficiency

Incorporating brush seals around the openings for effective weatherproofing and draught exclusion our vertical sliding sashes have an A-Rated energy rating (WER) as standard and the PVC-U used to make the frames can be recycled over and over again to produce new windows.

Double glazing units

Our windows are glazed with 24mm double glazed units as standard (4:16:4 pane and airgap configuration with Argon gas filling and Swiss V spacer bar ).
Specification options include toughened or laminated Low-E glass for enhanced thermal performance.
Diamond, square leaded, Georgian and astragal bar options and obscured patterned glasses for added privacy are available.

Installation

Installation of our PVC-U vertical sliding sashes is undertaken by our time served joiners who will take great care in cutting out the existing timber windows piece by piece ensuring not to damage any of the interior decoration.
Once the new window is in its location we then undertake to replace the windowboards and install the new linings and moulded architraves to compliment the internal finish of the property.
(PVC-U linings and architraves can be fitted if required to reduce the need to paint )

Opening new doors

Report highlights 19 million doors could be replaced as part of Green Deal

A recent report by D & G Consulting highlights the potential benefits of the Green Deal for the composite door market. The report commissioned by a leading composite door manufacturer estimates that there are an estimated 31 million doors over 10 years old installed in UK dwellings. In at least 19 million cases, replacing these with high performing insulating doors would produce annual energy and money savings for the homeowner.
” This is a conservative estimate- the very minimum ” adds D&G Consulting’s David Amos.
High performing insulating doors – in practice, composite doors – are recognised on the Governments advisory list as being the third most cost effective in its list of 47 measures which are eligible for the Green Deal under the ‘Golden Rule’ .
This means that the expected financial savings must be equal to or greater than the cost of repayment over the term of the Green Deal Plan.

D&G’s report calculates that the payback period could be as quick as 4.4 years.

Standing out from the crowd

It has been reported that it takes 8 seconds for a perspective buyer to make their mind up about purchasing a home, more than 4 seconds of which are spent waiting at the front door !!!

A front door’s colour and style can say a lot about a property and its owners. Estate agents will tell you that a front door can make or break a sale, it says everything about the house and its inhabitants.
We take a look at the importance of colour when it comes to selecting an entrance door and why first impressions count.

A new front door is an investment which can transform the look and feel of a property. It’s an important decision that needs to be right, because rather like the internal fixtures and fittings of a house, a front door has to be lived with. It is after all the main external feature; one which home owners have contact with day in day out and a stylish front door can also create kerb appeal.

It’s all too easy to think of a home improvement in terms of what it offers to the existing homeowner, but the time will come when the property also needs to appeal to a buyer. This is where the all important kerb appeal comes into play.

So colour and style count for a lot. Be it long term ownership or sprucing up for a sale, choosing the correct entrance door is an essential element. Opting for the right combination of door, glazing and hardware will transform the door taking it from being secure, functional and well constructed to creating an entrance.

Fashions and trends change, rather like clothes, what was once en vogue is no longer. Colour, woodgrain effects, timber upvc and now composite offer a fantastic range of choice.
Coupled with multiple decorative or plain glazing options we can install front entrance doors to suit any property from a cottage to a modern new build property.
It’s a delicate balancing act, however the choices we can give you appeal to both the traditional homeowner while catering to the needs of the more adventurous.

It is our responsibility to open your eyes to the potential when choosing the right entrance door.
